QUESTION: Susan O'Saile asked when a free shredding site would be in Hendersonville or nearby.
Financial advisers suggest shredding credit card statements, old checks, tax returns and anything that can reveal your identity.
ANSWER: There will be a communitywide shredding event between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. April 16 at LP Field in Parking Lot D.
Folks from the private company Shred It will destroy documents at the site.
A $5 donation is asked to shred the contents of a box of about 12 by 15 by 10 inches. The money goes to Nashville CrimeStoppers for its rewards fund.
Smaller events will be offered by another company, Shred on the Run. These are limited to eight boxes or bags and are not for businesses.
You do not need to remove paper clips or staples.
Here is the schedule:
• 10 a.m.-1 p.m. April 9 with the Madison-Rivergate Area Chamber of Commerce, at FiftyFoward Madison Station, 301 Madison St. There will be a charge of $3 per box.
• 9 a.m.-noon April 23 at the City of Belle Meade offices, 4705 Harding Pike, with a limit of eight boxes.
• 8 a.m.-noon April 30 with the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce at Bellevue Middle School, 655 Colice-Jeanne Road, with a limit of eight boxes.
• 9 a.m. to noon May 14 at FiftyForward, 174 Rains Ave., with a limit of eight boxes.
WHOM TO CALL: Shred on the Run invites consumers and businesses to co-sponsor a free shred day and nonprofit groups to use as a fundraising event. Call 615-356-0519.

Man found shot to death
A man was found fatally shot in a vehicle overnight at an apartment complex in the Nashboro Village area, Metro Police said.
Officers received a shots-fired call just after 1:30 a.m. Thursday, according to Metro Police Capt. Ken Walburn. When officers investigated, they were told by a resident that a car had crashed, and officers found a deceased body in the driver’s seat, slumped over, with the seat belt still on. The car had crashed into an area of shrubbery, Walburn said.
No motive has been established, nor have any witnesses to the shooting been located. Police were still on the scene early this morning, Walburn said.
The man, whose identity is being held until next of kin is notified, did not live at the complex, according to the initial investigation. But police said the victim was at the complex earlier in the day grilling out.
It hasn’t been determined whether the man was shot while driving the vehicle or beforehand, Walburn said.
“It’s a wide-open case, we don’t know if it was a robbery or a drug deal,’’ Walburn said.
The call came from Village Green Drive, according to dispatch.
Anyone with information is asked to call 74-CRIME.

Calling all volunteers!! This is a great place and it needs your help.
Spring is right around the corner and just like with your own home, the BLH also needs a good cleaning! Yes, it is work, but we can make it fun! Come join all your fellow members and volunteers; get to know others that you may not come in contact with at other times. We need you!!
Please mark your calendar for Saturday, March 19. We will begin at 8:00 am, so please come as early as possible. Many hands make light work, the more we have, the quicker we will are done. We will need some strong volunteers to take out the windows in order to wash and clean all parts of them, plus removing the cob webs, etc.
The BLH, Addison Museum and the Craft Center are way past due for a good cleaning.
Thank you, we appreciate your support!
Gratefully, Vivian
