Gary Petersen called the meeting to order. The July Minutes were approved, no meeting was held in August. They were sent to the Board Members and to Jim Grinstead for posting on the website: www.nashborogreens.com.

The Association has eight unit owners who are delinquent on their Association Fees totaling $8,632.92, of this total $7,245.10 is in foreclosure.
A special meeting was held by the homeowners on August 19, 2008 for the purpose of removing Gary Petersen, Fran Oroson and Darlene Collins from the Board. A majority of the Association’s members did not reach the number needed to remove these Board Members. Amy Watson will be writing the minutes for this meeting and they will be posted on the website when available.
Jim Curley will provide at least three written estimates at the October Board Meeting from lawn care companies. Darlene requested that the bids be broken down to reflect mowing, mulching, trimming, etc.
Joey Supak said he would like to have quicker responses from e-mails sent to Jim Curley Properties (JCP). Typically JCP waits until they have a maintenance crew committed to a date and time before responding, he will now respond to let the Association Member know that he has received the request and will let them know as soon as maintenance can get to them. Amy Watson suggest that a “standardized” form be developed and put on the e-mail site so when maintenance requests come in the form can be completed and sent to JCP. Amy will be talking with Jim Grinstead to develop this form and operation.
Gary Petersen asked JCP when the 2009 Budget would be ready for the Board to review. He wants the Board Members to take an extra careful review of the Budget to see if we can prevent having to raise the Association Fees in 2009. JCP said he was working on the Budget and will be presenting it to the Board no later than the November meeting.
JCP is getting bids on having an audit done on the Association’s financials; this is something that was brought up at the Special Meeting. The Board unanimously voted to have an outside firm do the audit.
There has been erosion occurring behind unit 100 causing soil to go into the patio. It was suggested by the Board that a retainer be installed across the back of the patio to prevent soil from covering the patio, this is a procedure that has been used in the past. JCP will also check to see what the cost would be to build a retainer wall, which would have to be extended behind the units in that building.
The bamboo fence what was installed behind one of the units on the cal-de-sac has been removed. The unit owner said he installed it for safety reasons; his patio is higher than the yard causing a safety issue. This unit and the units next to him will be checked and if soil needs to be brought in to correct this problem, it will be done.
A number of Homeowners with pets are still not cleaning up after their pets. Letters have been sent, pet owners have been approached. Some pet owners are just inconsiderate and any suggestions on how to handle this problem will be greatly appreciated.
JCP, Gary Peterson and Weatherly will begin a walk through of the community to see how many trees and shrubs need to be replaced. Replacing these trees and shrubs will be a waste of money if the homeowners don’t water them. The Board has waited until the end of summer to replant because that is our rainy season. But the homeowners are still going to have to do their part in making sure the trees and shrubs get a healthy beginning.
It was decided that the Annual Picnic should be rescheduled to October 25th and be called Nash-Fest. Fran will be writing to local merchants to see if we can get door prizes and contributions like we did last year.
The next Board Meeting will be October 16, 2008 at the Deerfield Clubhouse unless otherwise notified. Joey Supak is the contract person on the Board to schedule the place for the meeting.

ProjectProject Will Revamp Roadways Surrounding Nashville International The Terminal Access Roadway Improvements (TARI) Project is designed to improve traffic conditions on Ring Road, the one-way road that surrounds Nashville International Airport's current short- and long-term parking facilities and offers access to the terminal.
You will notice changes beginning October 6, when Phase I of TARI commences. DRIVING TIPS:Nashville International Airport encourages travelers and guests to enter the airport from Donelson Pike (I-40 exit 216B from the west, exit 216 from the east).
Please note that all existing parking lots will remain open during construction: valet parking, short-term parking, long-term parking and economy parking. The cell phone/waiting area also remains available. Ample signage will be in place to direct traffic throughout the airport, including the parking areas and roadways. Please allow extra travel time.
Phase I of TARI will be split into three sub-phases:* Sub-Phase I (Oct. 2008-May 2009): Entrance to/from I-40 - currently one lane each way separated by a median - will shift to two-way traffic on one side of the median. The cell phone/waiting area will move to the current economy parking lot and will increase in size. Ticket spitters for short- and long-term parking lots will move.
* Sub-Phase II (May-July 2009): Ring Road will be extended and routed through current long-term parking lot.
* Sub-Phase III (July-Sept. 2009): Demolition of current cell phone/waiting area; finish roadway tie-ins.

Flu Shots
Metro Health Department will offer one-day flu shot clinics at five community locations in addition to Lentz Health Center Monday, Oct. 20.
The clinics will be located at area churches, a Metro Police precinct and community centers in East Nashville, Antioch, North Nashville, Madison and South Nashville.
Each year about two of every 10 Americans get the flu and most of these cases could be prevented with the flu vaccine.Cost is $20, but the fee will be adjusted for those who cannot pay the full amount. Medicare Part B and TennCare insurance will be accepted.

See old-time activities at Buchanan house’s Fall Folk Festival
The Buchanan Log House, 2910 Elm Hill Pike in Donelson, will hold its Fall Folk Festival at 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 20.
The program will include interactive activities and demonstrations from the 19th century including quilting, blacksmithing, candle making, basket weaving and woodcarving. There is no cost to attend.
The Nashville Old Time String Band will perform. Guests dressed in character will be available to visit. Food and drinks will be available for purchase, and there will be train rides for children.

We need to get working on The Neighborhood Watch Group!
Just in the last two weeks there have been about 10 home
evasions in the Antioch area. Last night a bar on Bell road was
robbed at 10:30 at night. They are close and we want to keep them away.
Meredith and I are ready to go but we need some team leaders and people to get involved.I have ordered three signs and waiting for them to come in.
Anyone interested please contact me at mssphotography@aol.com. Without involvement from everyone this will not work....Come on let us all get together and make this work.

The Largest Water Cleanup in Nashville's History
Way to go Nashville, we’re kickin’ butt on trash.
Percy Priest needs your help! You can make a huge difference on Saturday, September 13 by participating in the second Nashville Clean Water Project. We have trash bags, gloves and sunscreen for you... we have snacks, hand sanitizer, T-shirts and hats... ...we even have gobs of giveaways and live entertainment. It’s the largest water cleanup in Nashville's history, and, oh yes, it's absolutely free.
When: Saturday, September 13; 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. at a *new location: Four Corners Marina (for directions, click on our link called "The Skinny"). Please sign up for a three hour block of fun, new friends and help for Mother Earth. Departures to specific lake locations at 8 a.m., 8:30 a.m., and 9 a.m.
Our first cleanup in May 2008 was huge -- the largest Nashville has ever seen! Together we gifted more than 1,800 collective work-hours to the environment and filled five (5) commercial rolloff dumpsters from Waste Management, Inc. with trash. Bottles, cans, plastics, coolers, tires, styrofoam, chairs & BBQ grills, full-sized traffic light, office copier, a residential air conditioner, even a mannequin arm. All told, we collected 100 cubic yards of trash – more than an average shopping mall produces in a month!
Unfortunately, that’s just 40% of the estimated surface trash at Percy Priest Lake – even Music City's largest water cleanup wasn’t enough. So join us as we continue this very necessary public campaign against litter on Percy Priest Lake's 24 islands and 213 miles of shoreline.
Can't attend September 13, but still want to help? Your donation in any amount will help defray the cost of supplies and other expenses. The Nashville Clean Water Project is a 100% volunteer effort and appreciates all support.
